Mold Allergy Symptoms - Do You Have Any?

Mold is a nice little organism that we all come in contact with in our daily lives, it is everywhere! Each day you are exposed to at least a little bit of it. Whether it's in the air you breathe or in a piece of food that may be just a little bit older than you think. In most cases this daily contact does not cause you to have any reaction. In a person that has a Mold Allergy however, even a small amount of exposure can cause an annoying allergic reaction. Not fun.

Mold is a fungus that breaks down organic particles such as plant or animal matter. This is present outdoors and indoors. The problems with having the allergy are the mold spores that trigger a reaction such as allergic rhinitis or asthma. Also molds can produce VOCs which is the musty odor of the mold that can irritate the eyes, nose, and throat.

-Difficulty Breathing
-Skin Rashes or Hives
-Runny Nose
-Sinus Head Ache
-Chronic Coughing

If the Mold Allergy Symptoms are a constant problem throughout the year then this may be an indicator of a problem. As apposed to seasonal allergies which usually flare up around in the spring months. Mold allergies can and do affect you year-round. This can become a serious problem and it is advised that if these symptoms are on-going all year you should see your doctor, do not make light of this condition.

If you do find out that you have a Mold Allergy, then you will want to look into prevention. There is no real way to stop any and all contact with mold, but you can reduce your risk in many ways with some easy steps. Toxic Mold Symptoms With Some Overlapping Preexisting Symptoms? Possible Legal Issue w/ Issue?
Hi. I have been living in my apartment duplex for 2 years and I have recently discovered black mold, but I believe it has been then longer than I have noticed hidden behind wall paint and under the carpet. I display some symptoms of toxic black mold poisoning such as memory loss, inability to concentrate, fatigue, depression, and irritated lungs, but before I moved in I was treated with depression. Just last year I was diagnosed with ADD I have been taking Adderall since then. I feel like my mental condition has worsened ever since I moved in, and I feel better when I am away from the apartment though its hard to separate the objective from the subjective The problem is that some of these symptoms overlap. My question is are specialized doctors able to do blood tests or other testing to find if my body has been exposed to toxic mold? What kind of testing can be done? The easy answer is to just move out, which I am, but I ask this question because the landlord has handled the situation so poorly that I want justice to be served because of his attitude and how poorly he has handled my situation. He won't do a mold inspection because he thinks the entire industry is and I quote "a giant scam" preying on health fears. He told me he doesn't want to have the house condemned and doesn't want to fork over the thousands of dollars to fix the problem. My concern is that if I have take this to court they will bring up my past mental related medical history. Can they do this? Would it be too hard to separate the two in court?

i have been in a old building for 3 weeks and i have been getting sicker and sicker the building has dry mold.?
the building was flooded a while back and it grow mold. there has been nobody in it for years. no air circulation nothing. my dad check a spot in the wall for mold and he said it was dry (not alive). i was wondering if my sickness is caused from the mold. ( symptoms are sore throat, stuffy nose, and hard to breath)

Could this be mold exposure?
I recently removed rotted wet wood from under kitchen sink. That same night I had trouble sleeping and was coughing alot. I also swept up alot of dust from that area but wasn't using a dust mask. I typically will have respiratory problems when sweeping alot of dust but this was such a small area so I didn't think it was necessary. Now I don't know if I have been exposed to mold or if my allergy like symptoms are from sweeping the dust. I have slight nasal congestion, cough for 2 days that have been improving but there was some wheezing after first 24 hours. How long does it take for mold symptoms to show up and are these symptoms of toxic/black mold?
