How To Treat Mold
5 Products for Treating Mold Allergies
Mold is a common issue in our homes and can grow anywhere moisture is found. For many of us, the small amounts of mold that is found in our homes is harmless; for others, it can be very troublesome. With the products listed below, found at places like AllergyBuyersClub.com and CVS, you can greatly reduce the impact that mold has on your life and begin to breathe better and live better.
1. Air Purifiers
Placing an air purifier in your home can reduce your allergens by an amazing rate. Most homes are not equipped for proper air circulation, especially newer homes that are more energy efficient and allow less fresh air into the home. By having an air purifier in the home with a HEPA filter, you can eliminate dust and other allergens from mold or dander and breathe much easier.
2. Dehumidifiers
If you have a room in your home, such as your bathroom or basement, that is constantly moist then a home dehumidifier can help reduce your risk of mold growth. If the area is left with moisture and little or no air is circulating, the moisture will be trapped into the homes drywall, baseboards, flooring, carpet or tile and can begin the growth of mold. Most homes have a certain amount of mold that is found and is normally harmless, but in some homes the amount of moisture is above what is considered to be normal and even those who are not sensitive to mold allergens can become harmed by the affects it has on the air that they breathe.
3. Steam Cleaners
For tile and other areas in the bathroom where mold loves to grow, use a steam cleaner to get a thorough and proper cleansing of the area before mold ever has a chance to grow. If mold is already found in these areas, a steam cleaner will help break down and eliminate the mold that is already there. You can find steam cleaners that are portable or larger ones for bigger areas. There are attachments that are included with some of the cleaners that will allow you to reach crevices and other areas that are hard to reach.
4. Breathing Treatments
If you have been suffering from mold allergens and your breathing is becoming poor, you can use a breathing machine to help you get the air you need to feel better. Breathing machines are normally used for asthma treatments, but when you are suffering from an allergic reaction to mold, the respiratory system is compromised and breathing becomes labored just as it would with asthma.
5. Mold Spray
You can use a special spray that is designed to kill mold on impact. The solution is designed to not only kill mold that it comes into contact with, but to prevent mold growth. You can spray the solution on window sills, tile, under the kitchen sink or anywhere you feel that mold is or could become an issue.
